Our Partnership with Manta Network: Unlocking the Potential of Private Web3

zkMe is excited to announce an integration with Manta Network to bring privacy-preserving identity verification to users of Manta’s zkSBT technology.

zkSBTs: Minting Tokens with Added Privacy Features

Manta Network is building a blockchain ecosystem focused on privacy and efficiency. Their suite of core products and technologies, including zkNFTs and MantaPay, offers user-friendly access to powerful ZK-enabled use cases.

Manta Network introduced zkSBTs (Zero-Knowledge Soulbound Tokens) as an enhanced version of traditional SBTs that leverage ZKPs to provide security and privacy. Similar to SBTs, zkSBTs are easy to mint and verify identities, but with added privacy features.

zkSBTs allow users to mint tokens on their zkAddress — a reusable, independent address for private assets in Manta. One zkAddress can have multiple zkSBTs, but one zkSBT can only be bound to one zkAddress. zkSBTs are not transferable.

Manta Network’s zkAddress and Proof Keys technology are integral parts of their zkSBT solution:

zkAddress: An address for private assets in Manta, reusable and independent.

Proof Keys: Allows users to verify zkSBT identity on-chain without a wallet, making it easy for mobile apps to check zkSBT ownership.

Users can deploy zkSBTs without deep cryptography knowledge. Manta Network has abstracted away complexity via their SBT SDK, which includes custom logic to enable zkSBT minting.

Some zkSBT use cases Manta enables:

• Profile pictures (metadata includes image) in a private way
• Verify on-chain transactions/assets without disclosing addresses
• In-game items purchased on-chain
• Secure decentralized social graph info that does not link identities

Transforming User Identities on Manta Network

By integrating with Manta Network, zkMe will be able to issue verifiable, encrypted Soulbound Tokens (SBTs) on the Manta platform. These SBTs will contain user attributes verified through zkMe’s zero-knowledge identity oracle.

This partnership will enable many benefits:

Compliant DeFi and CeFi — Users will be able to complete private KYC through zkMe’s SBTs, meeting compliance needs while preserving privacy.

Anti-sybil solutions — zkMe’s identity verification via facial recognition can reduce the use of bots and fake accounts on Manta Network.

Identity for apps — ZkMe’s SBTs can provide verified identities for applications built on Manta, enabling more private onboarding and user experience.

Faster onboarding — With verified zkMe SBTs, users can access Manta dApps more quickly without sharing sensitive data at each touchpoint.

Overall, our integration aims to transform how user identities are verified and managed on Manta Network. Users will have full control over their data while still gaining access to applications. And Manta Network’s suite of tools will benefit from stronger protections against fraud and abuse.
