Introduction

August has been a transformative month for zkMe, characterized by significant milestones that reinforce our mission to lead the way in privacy-preserving, compliance-ready solutions for the Web3 ecosystem.

A major highlight this month was the official announcement of securing $4 million in seed funding, which was led by Multicoin Capital, with notable participation from OKX Ventures and Robot Ventures.

This initiative is set to address the growing need for privacy-compliant identity solutions, adhering to global regulatory frameworks such as the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) directive. The funding will enable zkMe to expand its reach and solidify its position as a leading provider of compliance-ready identity solutions.

Alongside this funding achievement, zkMe has engaged in strategic partnerships, such as with W3BFLIX, to enhance security in the entertainment sector. Additionally, by participating in key industry events like the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2024 and launching our zkMe Community Advocates Program, zkMe is building awareness and strengthening community while advancing decentralized identity verification solutions.

Events

  1. Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2024

From August 19-22, zkMe had the privilege of attending the inaugural Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, a high-profile, invitation-only event co-organized by SALT, Kraken, and the University of Wyoming Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation.This symposium brought together 250 thought leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators from across the blockchain sector. At this event, zkMe had the opportunity to present our zkKYC Solutions and discuss our vision for the future of digital identity with key stakeholders. The symposium provided a valuable platform to explore potential collaborations that align with our mission to drive privacy and compliance within the Web3 space.

Product

In August, our app downloads across iOS and Android reached 31.6k, while total attestations surged to 657.4k, demonstrating consistent growth in the zkMe ecosystem.

The latest product update for the zkMe Identity Hub introduces several exciting features to enhance user engagement. Read our Introduction to the zkMe Identity Hub blog to learn more. With this update, we want to highlight the refined “Campaign” section following the successful rollout of the Pencils x zkMe XP Campaign.

We were also diligently working on the development of the zkCreditScore in August, our first zk profiling credential leveraging zero-knowledge proof, to obtain US credit score information from our partner, Reclaim Protocol, allowing us to verify credit data and mint Soulbound Tokens (SBT). This credential was launched in early September.

Additionally, we are excited to expand our ecosystem with the Plume Network, enabling the minting of Identity SBT on the Plume testnet and supporting achievements and badges, thus deepening user engagement and leveraging zero-knowledge technology.

To improve navigation within the app, we have updated the framework of the zkMe App with upgraded pages: Home, Credentials, Campaigns, and Achievements.Overall, these updates aim to improve user experience, security, and functionality within the zkMe platform.

Chain and Client Announcement

  1. BounceBit

We integrated with BounceBit, which offers institutional-grade yield products, restaking use cases, and CeDeFi as a service. This integration aims to enhance privacy and compliance on the BounceBit network through zkMe’s zkKYC solutions.

  1. W3BFLIX

On August 16, zkMe announced a strategic partnership with W3BFLIX, a pioneering platform in the Web3 entertainment industry. This partnership aims to integrate zkMe’s advanced privacy and security solutions into W3BFLIX, providing users with a secure and anonymous entertainment experience.

Community

  1. zkMe Ambassador Program Launch

In August, zkMe proudly launched its zkMe Community Advocates Program, aimed at engaging community members to represent and promote zkMe's mission and products. Ambassadors will play a crucial role in expanding our reach, educating others about our zero-knowledge solutions, and fostering a strong community around privacy and compliance in Web3. This program offers various rewards and recognition for ambassadors' efforts, making it a mutually beneficial initiative.

Thank you for our community's support! We successfully received over 400 applications. We are in the process of reviewing them and will update the successful candidates in the coming days. Stay tuned!

  1. Pencils × zkMe XP Campaign

In the latter part of August, zkMe launched the Pencils × zkMe XP Campaign, our latest initiative designed to enhance community engagement. This campaign allows participants to earn zkMe XP by engaging with the zkMe platform and completing tasks assigned by Pencils Protocol, a leading DeFi platform.
