zkMe Integrates with Arbitrum to Bring Privacy-Preserving Identity to Ethereum Scaling

We are delighted to announce a groundbreaking integration between zkMe and Arbitrum One, the leading Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. This integration aims to bring zkMe’s innovative privacy-preserving identity solutions with Arbitrum One scalable infrastructure, providing enhanced security and privacy for Arbinauts across the Ethereum ecosystem.

At zkMe, we are dedicated to empowering users to prove eligibility and attest to credential ownership without revealing their identity through our cutting-edge zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) protocol. By leveraging the power of ZKPs, we create a decentralized identity layer infrastructure that allows secure and private attestation and verification of credentials across ecosystems.

Arbitrum One is a Layer 2 optimistic rollup chain that implements the Arbitrum Rollup protocol and settles to Ethereum’s Layer 1 chain. It lets you build high-performance Ethereum dApps with low transaction costs and Ethereum-grade security guarantees, introducing no additional trust assumptions. This is made possible by the Nitro technology stack, a “Geth-at-the-core” architecture that gives Arbitrum One (and Nova) advanced calldata compression, separate contexts for common execution and fault proving, Ethereum L1 gas compatibility, and more.

With this integration, Arbitrum One’s vast Arbinauts base will soon be able to leverage zkMe’s identity oracles to seamlessly incorporate privacy-preserving identity solutions into their decentralized applications (dApps) and services. This opens up a world of possibilities, including:

  1. Institutions meeting KYC/AML compliance while joining DeFi on Arbitrum One through zkMe’s zkKYC solutions, ensuring regulatory standards are met while maintaining user privacy.
  2. Fair and secure airdrops, preventing bot attacks and Sybil attacks by enforcing the “one face, one DID” principle through facial recognition.
  3. Personalized services tailored to users’ preferences and needs by bringing their off-chain data, such as credit scores and social network statuses, to the chain through zkMe’s identity oracles.

zkMe’s integration on Arbitrum One is a strategic move, driven by the layer 2 solution’s widespread adoption and influential position within the Web3 ecosystem. One of our significant customers, Impossible Finance, boasts a substantial user base on Arbitrum One. Acknowledging their requirements and Arbitrum’s pivotal role in the industry, we promptly rolled out our zkKYC smart contract on this platform to cater to the growing demand for our privacy-preserving identity solutions within Arbitrum One.

This integration allows us to provide a fully decentralized zkKYC solution, enabling Arbitrum One users to seamlessly access and use our Zero-Knowledge KYC services, thereby greatly enhancing both security and compliance. Arbitrum One’s strong infrastructure and wide reach enable us to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions to a larger audience. By integrating with Arbitrum One, we affirm the value and effectiveness of our zkKYC service, supporting the industry’s move towards decentralized and privacy-focused solutions.

“We are excited to integrate with Arbitrum to bring zkMe’s powerful privacy solutions to wider Arbinauts. Under this integration, zkMe will bring its state-of-the-art privacy-preserving tools into Arbitrum One, which will enable Arbitrum One users to benefit from enhanced transaction privacy without compromising on speed or scalability. This integration is not just a milestone for our two teams but a significant leap forward for the entire Ethereum L2 community.”

- Alex Scheer, Founder and CEO of zkMe.

Conclusion

The integration of zkMe and Arbitrum is a significant step towards realizing the full potential of decentralized applications, enabling seamless and privacy-focused user experiences at scale. Together, we are paving the way for a new era of Web3 applications that prioritize user privacy, data sovereignty, and regulatory compliance, without compromising on scalability or functionality.

Stay tuned for further updates as we work towards making this integration a reality and unlocking the full potential of privacy-preserving identity solutions for the Arbitrum and Web3 communities.
